 haughty - arrogant

The haughty manager didn't believe that any of his subordinates could ever leave an insight as brilliant his own.


amok - frenzied, behaves uncontrollably and disruptively

appalling - astounding, awful

it is appalling to realize the number of pathetic people who are hampered and made miserable by the malady popularly called the inferiority complex.

lamented - deplore, bewail, bemoan 

in fact " he lamented " i am just about sunk.
