Meaning of huff, sangfroid, menacing, poise, and snapping

 huff - blow out air loudly on account of exertion, express one's feeling of pretty annoyance 

- Her was huffing under a heavy load.


Sanfroid - poise under pressure 

The hostage negotitiator exhibited a sanfroid that often times was move menacing than the  sword at his throat or the gun at his hreadyead. 


menacing - suggestive of coming danger

The strong dark eyebrows give his face an oddly menacing look.


poise - ready to act, about to do something

The actors were poised on the stage, ready for the curtain to come up. 


snapping - to break or be broken suddenly, usually with a sharp noise 

- To move or be moved  into a particular position especially sharp noise.

- She snapped the bag shut and walked out.
